# Delete an instance

`DELETE /v1/outputs/{id}/instances/{instance}`

Removes an instance. If it's on air, the component stays on air with its data; it just no longer shows as that instance.

## Path parameters

- `id` (string, required): The output's id.
- `instance` (string, required): The instance's id.

## Response

`204` with no body. A component's default instance can't be removed, and answers `409`.
